Kickstarter Campaign for Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Graphic Novel

In 1978, a movie parody came along that forever changed the landscape of horror parodies, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. As you can gather from the title of the movie, tomatoes come to life with homicidal tendencies towards the humankind. The mere saying of the word TOMATO would cause panic. The President puts together a cracked commando unit led by Mason Dixon (David Miller) to stop the tomato’s murderous rampage. The team learns the song Puberty Love, an Attack of the Killer Tomatoes original, is the only way to stop these little red menaces and a good stomp. In the end, the tomatoes would come back in multiple sequels, a cartoon, and a toy line.

As of currently writing this, the campaign was just launched on July 15th and already has 4,308 dollars towards the 15,000 dollar goal. It is an all or nothing campaign. If they don’t hit their goal by August 11, the project will not go forward. They have also set some stretch goals with some cool extras if they reach their initial goal. They are also offering some very nice pledge levels with different formats of the graphic novel, shirts and more. The samples they have of the cover art and some of the panels from within the novel remind me of the cartoon from the 1990s for the property.

If you’re a fan, then this is definitely worth backing it and adding it to your killer collection. Check out the Kickstarter and make sure this project see the light of day. And beware of the Attack of the killer tomatoes! Attack of the killer Tomatoes! Oh! You know the rest of the song.
