Sarah Butkovic
Sarah believes her penchant for horror began when her parents baptized her on Halloween. She grew up reading ghost stories by Mary Downing Hahn, then fell in love with Stephen King, Shirley Jackson, and the master of all things gothic, Ray Bradbury. Her foray into horror movies came later; COVID quarantine quickly turned her into a film buff — and she found herself enamored by the unsettling disquiet of Eraserhead, the chilling suspense of Hitchcock films, and the slapstick gore of 80's slashers like Intruder and Slumber Party Massacre. To this day, she still thinks of a molting Jeff Goldblum every time she accidentally lets a fly into her house. Sarah currently works as an editor and publishes short prose and poetry in various literary magazines. She holds a BA in English and Journalism from Dominican University and a MA in English from Loyola University Chicago.
